Newark, NJ - The Essex County College Women's soccer team hosted nationally ranked Ocean County College, on Tuesday Oct. 8th. In what was a tightly contested game, the lady Wolverines lost 3-1. Ocean raced out to a quick 2-0 lead before half time, but the lady Wolverines fought hard and created several chances to score in the first half. With a score of 2-0 at halftime, the Wolverines continued to throw shots on goal and it wasn't until Ilana Lashley put one in for the Wolverines on a breakaway. The lady Wolverines would not come close to scoring again and would ultimately fall 3-1.
Marie Telusma would chip in with 13 saves in goal and Nisrine Taalba with an assist.
The Wolverines (3-4-1) return to action Saturday Oct. 12 at Sussex County Community College for a noon kickoff.
