Newark, NJ - The Lady Wolverines used a strong fourth quarter Thursday night at home to win vs Monroe University, 60-57. Essex outscored their opponents 20-11 in the 4th and used a buzzer beating 3 point shot by Mia Marie Thomas to win the game in the final seconds. The Wolverines were led by Michelle Hernandez with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Kayley Lynch chipped in with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Essex would use stifling defense to shut down their opponents to win the game, while also shooting 42.2% from the field for the game.
Thomas would also go on to chip in 11 points for the game, Jakira Coar also had 11 points with 4 steals.
The Lady Wolverines (4-9) next play at Region 19 rivals Union College, Sat. Jan. 25th with a tipoff scheduled for noon, followed by at Middlesex College Tuesday Jan. 28th for a 5pm tipoff.
