Wolverines Lose Double Overtime Thriller

Newark, NJ - The Lady Wolverines opened up the second half of the season with a double overtime loss at Lackwanna College, 76-70. Sophomore returner Jakira Coar led the way with 26 points and seven rebounds, while Michelle Hernandez chipped in with a double/double (10 points, 11 rebounds). With the Wolverines down by three and only seconds to spare, Coar hit a three point shot to tie the game and send it to overtime. In overtime and double OT, it would be the home team that came up with the defensive stops to secure the victory. The Falcons would force the visiting Wolverines into twenty four turnovers for the game, including a few key ones late in the game.

The Wolverines would go on to shoot 32.2% from the field for the game, while Lackawanna would shoot 30.3%

The Lady Wolverines (3-8) return to action Saturday at home vs Salem Community College, with a noon tipoff.
