Lady Wolverines Drop One To Lackawanna

Newark, NJ - The Essex County College Women's Basketball team dropped tough game to Region 19 foes Lackawanna College Tuesday night, 113-76. The Falcons of Lackwanna College came out flying shooting 45.1% from the field, while Jayla South dropped 42 points with 8 rebounds and 7 assists. The Wolverines led by Mia Marie Thomas (24 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds) hung tough with their opponents, but their red hot shooting proved to be too much. Basirat Amirashaun also chipped in with 15 points and 13 rebounds for the Wolverines, who cut the lead at halftime to 55-26, before ultimately dropping the contest. 

The Lady Wolverines themselves shot 43.1% from the field for the game.

The Wolverines (1-3)next return to action Saturday Nov. 23rd at Salem Community College (noon tipoff).
