Newark, NJ - The Wolverines were edged out late by Rockland Thursday night in the Cleo Hill Gymnasium, 76-73. A late three point shot by Rockland sealed the win for the visitors, as the home team could not tie the game in the final seconds. Essex was led again by Johnathan Quiles II with 22 points and Jaidan Gilzene with 17 points and Ricardo Gomez with 16 points.
The Wolverines were solid on offense, shooting 61.7% from the field, but allowed their opponents to shoot 58%. Gilzene again posts another double/double, adding 11 rebounds.
Essex now falls to 3-14 on the season and travels to Ulster County Community College on Sat. Jan 18th for a non region matchup, with tipoff scheduled for 2pm.
