Newark NJ - The Essex County College Men's Basketball team lost an overtime thriller to Rockland Community College 80-74. The Wolverines were led by Johnathan Quiles II with 25 points and 7 rebounds and Ethan Laquindanum with 12 points and 4 rebounds for the offense, but could not stop the Rockland comeback and their game tying bucket to finish the game. Sophomore Guard Shane Cedres would go down in the first half with an injury and not return.
In overtime, the Wolverines were outscored 13-7 and missed key free throws and stops that would come back to haunt them.
The Wolverines (3-11) return to action and close out the year Saturday at Raritan Valley for a 2pm tipoff.
