Wolverines Clipped By Salem

Newark, NJ - The Women's Basketball team of Essex County College fell to Salem Community College on Sat. Jan. 18th by the score of 76-75. In a close nail biter of a game, the Wolverines were edged out thanks to some stingy defense by their opponents late in the 4th quarter. Essex was led on offense by Jakira Coar with 26 points and Kayley Lynch with 17 points and 8 rebounds.The Lady Wolverines outscored their opponents in the final quarter, but it was not enough on the day to pull the game out from the grasp of their opponents. 

The Wolverines shot 44.3% from the field for the game, but allowed their opponents to shoot 46.2%.

Essex will not turn to their next game, when they host Monroe University-Bronx on Thursday Jan. 23rd for a 7pm tipoff in the Cleo Hill Gym.
